Chief Executive Officer
Martyn is the founder and Chief Executive of Document Direct and has much experience in building businesses with lively, motivated and enthusiastic teams. Integrity and doing the right thing are key elements of this approach together with a strong sense of achievement, inclusiveness and fun – and a very clear focus on customer and client satisfaction.
From a financial background as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in both Saudi Arabia and Liverpool, he has played a key role in supporting, investing and developing a wide range of businesses in many sectors. This has given him considerable experience in the many issues of growth and creating strong teams.
He founded Document Direct in 2005 and is fully focused on ensuring the business produces a first-class service, based on reliability and consistency, integrating the best technologies, and providing the best possible customer service experience. He led Document Direct’s accreditation to B Corp status in 2024 which reflects many of the values upon which the company is based.
He brings experience, enthusiasm and a positive outlook and outside of Document Direct, he has four children, watches the occasional Everton and Tranmere Rovers (where he is an Associate Director) games, and is a keen cyclist having completed both London to Paris and London to Amsterdam in aid of the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), together with three Tour d’Etapes (two French and one Portuguese) and the remarkable 315km Vatterunden in 2024.
He is also Managing Director of LegalRSS, which provide Court report summaries, and publishes The Messenger on behalf of the Manchester Law Society, and he is also an Ambassador of the Royal Court Theatre in Liverpool, a Trustee of NYAS and is an owner of the UK’s leading professional wrestling business, PROGRESS Wrestling, and DEFY Wrestling of Seattle, as well as a co-founder of Camp New York.
He is a Past President of the Liverpool Society of Chartered Accountants, and remains a leading figure with the Society, the oldest such organisation in the world.
